2017 Rental Information/Introduction

The Greater Hansville Community Center (GHCC), located on Buck Lake County Park property at 6778 Buck Lake Road in Hansville, Washington, is available for rental by GHCC members and member organizations, residents of the Greater Hansville area, non-resident individuals and other organizations. The West Room of GHCC is a large 40’ x 40’ meeting space (maximum capacity 225) with 10 – 8′ tables, 20 – 6’ tables, 12- 3’ card tables, and sufficient chairs for 160 people available for use. In addition, there is a separate kitchen equipped with refrigerator, range, convection oven and microwave oven. Coffee making appliances are also available for use. The East Room, a smaller meeting room for groups up to 30 people, is also available.

Certain dates including July 2-4, August 1-16, and October 20-23, 2017 are unavailable as rental days due to scheduled GHCC events and activities. Rental of the Buck Lake Park Picnic Shelter is arranged through Kitsap County Parks Department, (360) 337-5350.

(1) Individuals and organizations must be an active GHCC member for a minimum of 6 months to qualify for the GHCC Member Rate.

(2) Damage Deposit does not cover repair or replacement costs. Renter is responsible for replacement and/or repair of all damages to facilities and equipment.

(3) Non–Profit Member Organizations Free Use of the East Room is limited to one meeting each month.

(4) A $100.00 damage deposit is required for the large (West) meeting room. There is no damage deposit for the small (East) room. If renting both rooms the $100.00 deposit is required. The Deposit must be included with the rental reservation. The deposit will be refunded if the building has been left in its original state and the keys are returned. Your reservation is not complete until the rental fee and the damage deposit are paid. All checks should be made out to Greater Hansville Community Center. Before the event, arrangements will be made for you to pick up the keys. You may also send an email to: rental@hansville.org. If there is an emergency during the event concerning the facility, contact telephone number 360-638-2882 or 360-881-0474. If there is a fire or medical emergency, call 911.

(5) Please confirm the facility’s availability for your event with the rental coordinator before publicly announcing your event dates.

Rental Rules and Responsibilities:
Leave the building in the state it was found. (This means at the end of the event the room must be returned to its original configuration.) Delayed clean up will be accepted ONLY with prior written approval from the rental coordinator on a per case per event basis. A $25.00 per hour cleaning fee will be deducted from the damage deposit if building is found in unsatisfactory condition.
Empty all garbage in the cans / bags provided, remove empty cardboard boxes and food containers from the building, (Use the garbage dumpsters in the parking lot).
No smoking is allowed in the building or within 25’ of the doors by state law. Candles or other flame producing devices are against Kitsap County fire codes and must not be used unless Kitsap County Fire District issues a special use permit to the renter. For information contact the Fire District office: (360) 297-3619. The use of open flame outdoor barbeques within 10’ of the buildings is prohibited. The decorative arbor cannot be used within the main entry area or block any exit.
Use only 3M brand removable tape for applying decorations (no pins, tacks, nails or “easy remove” hooks). Do not apply tape to plastic surfaces. The hooks provided above each window and on the bottom of each conduit clamp may be used. Do not hang anything from the ceiling or the ceiling lights.
Pets or other animals are not allowed in the building without special permission from the GHCC Board.
Renter is responsible for their guests’ behavior. Renter must have adult chaperones for minors in attendance. The premises may only be used for legal purposes.
If alcoholic beverages are to be served, a liquor permit must be obtained and displayed on the bulletin board during the event. The Liquor Permit Number should be emailed to rental@hansville.org; or mailed to: Greater Hansville Community Center, Attn. GHCC Rental, P. O. Box 133, Hansville, WA 98340. The liquor permit needs to be obtained 30 days in advance by contacting the Washington State Liquor Control Board.
Food handler permits are required for any advertised event that serves food to the public; please contact the Kitsap County Health Department for information, (360) 337-5235. A banquet permit is required for serving food to guests whether paying to attend an event or not. Please contact the Kitsap County Health Department for additional information.
All of the renter’s food must be removed from refrigerator, freezer and kitchen at end of the function.

THE TAKE DOWN OF ALL TABLES AND CHAIRS IS THE RENTER’S RESPONSIBILITY. All tables and chairs are to be placed in the storage closet in accordance with instructions located in the storage room. If desired, a separate setup/takedown service is available for an additional charge.
Please be sure that you turn off the interior and exterior lights and heat when you leave the building.

The building must be cleaned and vacated by 11:00 pm.

It is your responsibility to secure the building by checking all exterior doors, in both the West and East Room, and verify they are locked. The Greater Hansville Community Center assumes no responsibility for any property placed in the building by the renter. If the facility should become unavailable for use by the scheduled renter due to unanticipated conditions of the community center, the GHCC shall not be held responsible for any damages or liability beyond the refund of the rental fee and damage deposit.
